Betamax is a veterinary antibiotic that contains Amoxicillin for Cattle, Sheep, Dogs, and Cats it is effective in the treatment of infections, caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria let’s know more about the product

Composition

Betamox LA inj. is a sterile white suspension containing 150 mg / ml amoxylin as amoxicillin trihydrate.
Chemically, amoxylin is a penicillinic acid of 6 [D amino-p-hydroxy-phenylacetamido]

Indications

Betamox LA inj. contain Amoxicillin which is a broad-spectrum, bacterial semi-synthetic penicillin for cattle, sheep, dogs and cats.
In vitro, amoxicillin is effective against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria including Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus, Salmonella, and staphylococci and streptococci
It is effective in controlling infections caused by some susceptible micro-organisms in cattle, sheep, dogs and cats, in which case a single prolonged injection is sufficient.
It can be effective in secondary bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms, in which case the bacteria are not the primary cause of the disease
Indications include conditions of
a) the digestive tract
b) respiratory system
c) skin and soft tissues
d) urogenital tract
e) and the prevention of postoperative infections

Contraindications

Intravenous or intrathecal administration of Betamox LA inj. is not permitted
It is not effective against beta-lactamase-producing bacterial strains
Amoxicillin, like other penicillins, cannot be given orally to rabbits, robins,& gerbils

Target species

Cattle, sheep, dogs and cats.

Dosage

Cattle, sheep: intramuscular
Dogs, cats : intramuscular / subcutaneous
The recommended dose is 15 mg / kg body weight, which can be repeated in 48 hours
Massage the inoculation site
Shake the vial well before use
This product does not contain an antimicrobial preservative
Use a dry, sterile syringe

DOSAGE (ML)
Cattle 450 kg : 45.0 ml
Sheep 65 kg : 6.5 ml
Dogs 20 kg : 2.0 ml
kitten 5 kg : 0.5 ml

The dosage is equivalent to 1 ml per 10 kg body weight. If the dosage volume exceeds 20 ml it should be divided and injected at two different points. Normal aseptic precautions can be observed

Waiting time

Milk during treatment may not be used for human consumption.
In the case of cows milked twice a day, the milk can be given for human consumption 79 hours after the last treatment.
Cattle can only be slaughtered for human consumption 23 days after the last treatment.
It is not administered to sheep whose milk is given for human consumption
Sheep may be slaughtered for human consumption only 16 days after the last treatment.
