SERIGAN 6000 is used for sheep, rabbit and cattle estrus induction. More details are mentioned below..
Active substances and other ingredients:
Vial with powder:
Each vial of SERIGAN 6000 contains active substance: Equine serum gonadotrophin 6000 IU, Excipient q.s.
(rabbit, sheep and cattle estrous induction)
solvent vial:
Each vial of SERIGAN 6000 contains: Water for injections 24 ml.
1 ml of reconstituted solution contains 250 IU of equine serum gonadotropin.
White lyophilised and clean colourless solution free from foreign particles.
Indications:
SERIGAN 6000 is used for animal estrus induction.
(rabbit, sheep and cattle estrous induction).
Contraindications:
-Do not administer SERIGAN 6000 to animals with renal impairment and/or heart disorders.
-Don’t use SERIGAN 6000 in case of females with polycystic ovaries.
-In case of known hypersensitivity to active substances or any excipient don’t use it.
Adverse reactions:
-Shortly after administration, in very rare cases anaphylactic reactions may occur.
-Ovarian hyperstimulation can very rarely occur.
The frequency of adverse reactions is defined using the following convention:
– very common (more than 1 in 10 animals treated displaying adverse reaction(s))
– common (more than 1 but less than 10 animals in 100 animals treated)
– uncommon (more than 1 but less than 10 animals in 1,000 animals treated)
– rare (more than 1 but less than 10 animals in 10,000 animals treated)
– very rare (less than 1 animal in 10,000 animals treated, including isolated reports)
Target species:
Cattle (breeding cows), ovine (sheep), caprine (goats) and rabbits (breeding females).
Dosage and route of administration:
SERIGAN 6000 is given by intramuscular route.
Bovine (cows):
500-700 IU of equine serum gonadotropin (equivalent to 2 – 2.8 ml of SERIGAN 6000 IU / 24 ml) in a single dose after progestin treatment.
Ovine and caprine (sheep and goats):
400-500 IU of Equine serum gonadotropin (equivalent to 1.6-2 ml SERIGAN 6000 IU / 24 ml) in a single dose or 48 hours before treatment with progestins.
Use low doses of SERIGAN 6000 according to the recommended range during the breeding season and in cyclic animals and use high doses within the range outside the breeding season (in seasonal regions) and in animals in anestrus.
Rabbits:
25 IV of equine serum gonadotropin (equivalent to 0.1 ml of SERIGAN 6000/24ml) intramuscularly in a single dose.
Administration is recommended using a calibrated syringe depending on the volume to be administered.
Advice on correct administration:
-Add part of the solvent using a sterile syringe and needle to the vial that is containing the lyophilisate of SERIGAN 6000.
-Shake gently until reconstitution.
-Next, collect all the reconstituted product with the syringe then transfer it to the vial containing the remaining solvent and shake it to obtain a homogeneous suspension.
Withdrawal period:
Meat: 0 days.
Special storage precautions:
-Keep SERIGAN 6000 out of the sight and reach of children.
-SERIGAN 6000 is stored in a refrigerator (between 2°C and 8°C). Keep the vials in the outer carton in order to protect them from light and moisture.
-Do not use this veterinary medicinal product after the expiry date which is stated on the carton box after EXP.
-Shelf life after first opening the container: Use immediately.
