Composition
Each ml albendazole 5% contain
Albendazole 50 mg
Properties:
It is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic against roundworms, lungworms, tapeworms and adult liver fluke in Cattle, Sheep and Goats. It belongs to benzimidazoles which act by interrupting parasite energy metabolism by binding to tubulin, thereby disrupting microtubular cell structure and preventing nutrient uptake and other functions.
Indications:
albendazole 5% is indicated for the control of different types of worms and adult liver fluke in Cattle, Sheep, and Goat
Cattle:
1 -Roundworm infestation by Bunostomum, Chabertia, Cooperia, Haemonchus, Nematodirus,
Oesophagostomum, Ostertagia, Strongyloides, and Trichostrongylus spp.
2 – Lungworm infestation by Dictyocaulus viviparus.
3 – Tapeworms infestation by Moniezia spp.
4 – Adult liver fluke infestation by adult Fasciola hepatica.
Sheep & Goats:
1- Roundworm infestation by Chabertia, Haemonchus, Nematodirus
( including N. battus ), Oesophagostomum, Ostertagia, and Trichostrongylus spp.
2 – Lungworm infestation by Dictyocaulus filaria.
3 – Tapeworms infestation by Moniezia spp.
4 – Adult liver fluke infestation by adult Fasciola hepatica.
•It is ovicidal and will kill fluke and roundworm eggs, thus reducing pasture contamination.
Contra-indication:
not to be used in sheep producing milk for human consumption.

Dose:
given orally as a single dose.
Cattle:
• Roundworms and Tapeworms: 1.5 ml / 10 kg. b.wt.
• Adult flukes: 1 ml / 5 kg. b.wt.
Sheep & Goat:
• Roundworms and Tapeworms: 1 ml/ 10 kg. b.wt.
• Adult flukes: 1.5 ml / 10 kg. b.wt.
Side-Effects:
Coughing for some weeks after treatment in cattle suffering from severe lung damage
due to heavy lungworm infestation.
Withdrawal Time:
Cattle:
Meat: 14 days.
Milk: 60 hours.
Sheep:
Meat: 4 days.
Storage:
Store at a temperature not exceeding 30º C.
