Ketomed 10% is a veterinary anti-inflammatory drug used for cattle & horse pain relief in inflammatory conditions such as: arthritis in horse, horse colic. Product details are available now on Byttara.com
Composition:
Each 100 ml KETOMED 10% contains:
10 gm Ketoprofen.
Properties:
Ketoprofen inhibits cyclooxygenase catalysis of arachidonic acid to prostaglandin precursors Endoperoxides, thereby inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandin in tissues.
Indications:
Cattle, Horses.
KETOMED 10% is used for treatment of Inflammation and pain associated with musculoskeletal disorders or colic.
Pain relief especially for musculoskeletal pain, osteoarthritis, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, protection from endotoxemia.
Dosage instructions:
For active Ingredient
Horse: 2.2 mg Ketoprofen per kg bodyweight once daily for 3-5 days.
Cattle: 3 mg Ketoprofen per kg bodyweight once daily for up to 3 days.
For whole product :
horses :1 ml KETOMED 10% per 45 kg bodyweight once daily for 3-5 days.
cattle 3 ml KETOMED 10% per 100 kg bodyweight once daily for up to 3 days.
Contra-Indications:
-Concurrent administration of KETOMED 10% with other NSAIDs, Diuretics, Aminoglycosides, Anticoagulants, patients with gastro-duodenal ulcer, Haemorrhagic syndrome.
-Hypersensitivity to Ketoprofen or Aspirin, severe renal or hepatic impairment.
-For race horses 15 days prior to racing.
-For treatment before regaining consciousness after any general anaesthesia.
Side Effects:
Rarely vomiting and diarrhea, transient swelling at injection site.
Warnings & Precautions:
-Care in animals less than 6 weeks of age or aged animals.
-Avoid use in dehydrated hypovolemic or hypotensive patients.
-Patients on long treatment should be monitored.
-Avoid intra-arterial injection.
-Safety in pregnant animals has not been established.
Withdrawal period:
Cattle: Meat and offal:
IV :1 day.
IM: 2 days.
Milk: zero hours.
Storage condition:
Store at temperature not exceeding 30°C and away from reach and sight of children.

50 & 100 ml vials.
