Lemoxin is an oxytetracycline antibiotic used for cattle, sheep and goats to treat a variety of disease conditions. Check the description below for more details.

Composition:

Lemoxin contains:
Oxytetracycline base……… 200 mg.
Excipients
Sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylate dihydrate 2.2 mg.

Target species:

Cattle, sheep and goats.

Indications:

Cattle:
– Lemoxin is used for the treatment and control of respiratory disease caused by Pasteurella multocida and Pasteurella haemolytica, where symptoms in some animals in the flock are determined.
– For the treatment of infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis caused by Moraxella bovis.
– For the prevention of metritis if treated during or immediately after the parturition.

– For the treatment of anaplasmosis caused by Anaplasma marginale.

– For the treatment and control of tick-borne fever caused by Babesia divergens and Cytoecotes phagocytophilia and where disease symptoms in a number of animals in the flock are determined.

Sheep:
– For the treatment of enzootic pneumonia caused by P. haemolytica, where symptoms in some animals in the flock are determined.
– For the prevention of enzootic abortion caused by Chlamydia ovis.
– For the treatment and control of “tick-borne fever” caused by Cytoecotes phagocytophilia and Staphylococcus aureus, where disease symptoms in a number of animals in the flock are determined.
– For the treatment of heartwater caused by C. ruminantum.

Goat:
– To treat CCP (Contagious Caprine Pleuropneumonia) caused by M. pneumonia.

Dosage:

Single 20 mg oxytetracycline per kg bodyweight by intramuscular administration.
The maximum injection volume per injection site for goat and sheep is 5 ml and for cattle is 10 ml.

Withdrawal times:

Cattle, sheep and goat:
Meat and offal: 27 days.
Milk: 13 days.
Do not use Lemoxin in sheep producing milk for human consumption.

Storage:

Store Lemoxin below 25°C for 3 years.
Once opened, do not store above 25° C, use within 28 days.
Keep the vial in the outer carton in order to protect from direct sunlight.
