LINKOSYM is a powerful veterinary antibiotic of spectinomycin-lincomycin which is used to treat various conditions including:
- Pneumonia in cattle lungs .
- Pneumonia in cats & dogs.
- Poultry diseases like CCRD & staphylococcal infections.

Composition
Each 1 ml of LINKOSYM contains the following active Ingredients:
Lincomycin …………………………………… 50 mg
Spectinomycin ………………………………. 100 mg
Excipients:
Benzyl Alcohol …………………………………….. 9mg
Indications:
LINKOSYM is used in the treatment of the diseases mentioned below, which are caused by bacteria sensitive to lincomycin and spectinomycin.
– Cattle and sheep: in the treatment of pneumonia, mycoplasmosis, septicemia, bacterial enteritis, contagious lactation, arthritis, mouth rot, and foot diseases.
– Dogs and cats: respiratory tract, pneumonia, bronchitis, laryngitis, and infections of the genitourinary system.
– Poultry: It is used in the treatment of chronic respiratory diseases, complex chronic respiratory diseases, meningitis, Pasteurella, staphylococcal infections and cold infections such as uterine inflammation, in the treatment of gastroenteritis, as well as in the treatment of wounds and skin infections.
Dosage and method of administration:
(unless otherwise advised by a veterinarian)
Sheep and sheep: 1 ml per 10 kg body weight per day for 3 days.
Calf, cattle: 5 ml per 50 kg of body weight by intramuscular injection, twice daily. Treatment continues once daily for 2-4 days, depending on clinical response.
Dogs and cats: 0.2 ml per 1 kg of body weight by intramuscular injection, twice daily. Treatment continues for 3-7 days, depending on clinical response
Poultry: 0.5 ml per 25 kg of body weight by subcutaneous injection for 3 days.
In gait: no more than 25-30 ml of the product should be injected at the injection site.
Contraindications
Use of the LINKOSYM other than the target species may cause gastrointestinal disturbances. Therefore, the product should not be used in rabbits, guinea pigs, Hamsters and horses, should be used with care in animals with hepatic and renal failure as the drug’s half-life may be prolonged.
Use during pregnancy, lactation and childbirth: Administration of the drug to sheep in the third trimester of pregnancy can cause miscarriage and rarely death.
Withdrawal period
Cattle, sheep and chicken Meat and offal: 30 days.
Milk gait 72 hours (6 cuts).
It should not be used in sheep producing milk for human consumption.
It should not be used in chickens producing eggs for human consumption.
