Gram-negative bacteria: (Escherichia coli, Pasteurella multocida, Mannheimia (Pasteurella) haemolytica and Actinobacillus pleuropneumonia) as well as mycoplasmas (Mycoplasma bovis, Mycoplasma hyo pneumoniae).
Resistance may occur in streptococci.

Subcutaneous and intramuscular injection can cause temporary edema at the injection site.
Intramuscular injection can cause pain reactions and inflammatory changes at the injection site.
These remain detectable for 12 days in calves.
If you notice any side effects in your animal/animals that are not listed in the package leaflet, please inform your veterinarian or pharmacist.
Special warnings:
Special precautions for use in animals:
It is recommended that fluoroquinolones be used for therapeutic purposes only if other groups of antibiotics have been ineffective or are likely to be insufficiently effective.
The use of fluoroquinolones should, if possible, be based on a susceptibility test (antibiogram).
When using the veterinary medicinal product, the official and local regulations on the use of antibiotics must be taken into account.
Deviations from the conditions of use stated in the package and specialist information can increase the prevalence of fluoroquinolone-resistant bacteria and, due to possible cross-resistance, reduce the effectiveness of treatment with other quinolones.
Use during pregnancy, lactation or the laying period:
Studies on laboratory animals (rats, rabbits) have shown no teratogenic, embryotoxic or materno toxic effects of marbofloxacin.
The use is therefore at the discretion of the attending veterinarian after assessing the benefit-risk ratio. See also withdrawal period.
Overdose (symptoms, emergency procedures and antidotes), if necessary:
No symptom of overdose was observed after administration of marbofloxacin at three times the recommended dose.
The symptoms of overdose with marbofloxacin are of the acute neurological type and are treated symptomatically.
