MARBORESP 2% is an antibiotic used for treating calf diseases caused by bacteria sensitive to marbofloxacin. All details are mentioned in the following description..
Composition:
Each 1 ml MARBORESP 2% contains:
Marbofloxacin 20 mg
Properties:
MARBORESP 2% contain Marbofloxacin which has good activity against many G -ve bacilli & cocci, including most species & strains of pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella, E.coli, Enterobacter, Campylobacter, Shigella, Pasteurella, Salmonella, Haemophilus and Yersinia.
Other organisms that are generally susceptible include Brucella spp., Staphylococci including penicillinase-producing and methicillin-resistant strains and Mycoplasma.
Indications:
Pre-ruminant cattle
It is used for treatment of marbofloxacin sensitive infections:
-Bronchopneumonia due to Mycoplasma, Pasteurella and E.coli infections.
-Urogenital infections due to pasteurella, Haemophilus and Klebsiella infections.
-Mastitis due to Staphylococcus, E.coli and Mycoplasma infections.
Target species:
Pre-ruminant cattle
Dosage & Route of Administration:
Pre-ruminant cattle (up to 100 kg):
By S.C-I.M Or I.V: 1 ml of per 10 kg b.wt. daily for up to 3-5 days.
Warnings & Precautions:
Cross-resistance with other fluoroquinolones.
Not to be used in pregnant animals.
Preparations containing Mg++, A+++, Ca++ hinder marbofloxacin distribution.
Contra-indications:
Marbofloxacin ( MARBORESP 2% ) is contraindicated in animals hypersensitive to it.
Side effects:
Non in the recommended doses.
High concentration may cause CNS stimulation.
May cause some nausea, vomiting and diarrhea at high doses.
Withdrawal time:
Pre-ruminant cattle: Meat: 6 days.
Storage condition:
Store at a temperature not more than 30° C.
Used immediately after opening.
Keep out of reach of children.
