Norocillin Injection is an effective veterinary antibiotic for treating penicillin -sensitive bacterial infections such as anthrax, pneumonia and mastitis in cows.It also treats arthritis in horses.
Composition
Each ml of Norocillin contains:
300mg Procaine Penicillin Ph.Eur in an aqueous suspension, and 1.5 mg mixed hydroxybenzoate esters (as sodium salts) as antimicrobial preservative.
Indications of penicillin
for the treatment of infections caused by, or associated with organisms sensitive to penicillin.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Norocillin For intramuscular injection.
Recommended dose rate is 10 mg per kg bodyweight (1 ml Norocillin per 30 kg) for 3-5 days.
Do not inject Norocillin intravenously.
Care should be taken not to overdose.
contraindications
-contraindicated in known cases of hypersensitivity to penicillins
-Not to be used in sheep where the milk is intended for human consumption Milk for human consumption must not be taken during treatment.
-Milk for human consumption may only be taken from cows after 60 hours from the last treatment Animals -must not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment.
-Animals may be slaughtered for human consumption only after 5 days. Penicillins / cephalosporins may occasionally cause severe allergic reactions.
STORAGE CONDITIONS of Norocillin
Store in a refrigerator (2 °C -8°C).
Protect from light.
Keep out of the reach of children.
