Nova - Oxy is an oxytetracycline cattle and sheep veterinary antibiotic which is effective against all the oxytetracycline sensitive bacteria treating many disease conditions including cattle & sheep pneumonia treatment. Check the description below for more information..
Composition
Every 100 ml Nova – Oxy contains:
active substances
Oxytetracycline dihydrate……………..300 mg.
inactive substances
N-methyl 2-pyrrolidone, 2-pyrrolidone, sodium sulfoxylate formaldehyde, magnesium chloride 6 water, monoethanolamine, to arginine hydrochloride, water.
Indications
Nova – Oxy is intended for the treatment of diseases sensitive to organisms sensitive to oxytetracycline such as Bordetella bronchioles, Actinomyces pyogenes, Erythroma porphyria, Pasteurella type, Staphylococcus type, Cocci.
Streptococcus, Mycoplasma, Rickettsia, Protozoa, and Chlamydia are also certain organisms sensitive to oxytetracycline.
Nova – Oxy Metabolism is intended for the treatment and control of pasteurellosis, pneumonia, atrophic rhinitis, rheumatoid arthritis, umbilicus, bovine summer mastitis, keratoconjunctivitis Sheep (pink eye and genetic abortion in sheep).
Dosage and route of administration
Determine body weight accurately to ensure as accurate dosage as possible.
Use the product by deep intramuscular injection.
Use a sterile needle and syringe cattle and sheep.
Standard dose: 20 mg/kg (1 mL/15 kg) for 3 to 4 days.
High dose: 30 mg/kg (1 mL/10 kg) for 5 to 6 days.
Maximum dose delivered at one site:
Cows: 15 ml.
Sheep: 5 ml.
Withdrawal period
Dose 20 mg/kg
Livestock meat and offal = 28 days.
Sheep meat and offal = 28 days.
Dose 30 mg/kg
Livestock meat and offal = 35 days.
Milk = 8 days.
Sheep meat and offal = 28 days.
Milk = 8 days.
Special warnings for each target type
Treatment with oxytetracycline does not completely eradicate chlamydia infection in the herd.
Special precautions for use
The use of Nova – Oxy must be based on a sensitivity test for bacteria isolated from the animal.
If this is not feasible, treatment should be based on local (regional, farm-level, epidemiological information on susceptibility to target bacteria specific treatment).
