Composition
Oxysav 30% contains:
Oxytetracycline 30% w/V
(As oxytetracycline dihydrate)
Indication
Oxysav 30% is a broad spectrum antibiotic indicated for use in the treatment of conditions caused by, or associated with, organisms sensitive to oxytetracycline in cattle and sheep.
Dosage and Administration
Deep intramuscular injection.
Standard dose is 20 mg/kg (1 ml/15 kg) in order to obtain 3 to 4 days duration of activity.
High dose is 30 mg/kg (1 ml/10 kg) for prolonged duration of activity (5 to 6 days).
The maximum recommended dosage at one site is 15 ml for cattle & 5 ml for sheep.
Withdrawal Periods
Meat:
20 mg/kg dose: Cattle and sheep: 28 days.
30 mg/kg dose: Cattle: 35 days.
Sheep: 28 days.
Milk: Cattle and sheep: 8 days.
Storage
Store Oxysav below 30°C. Protect from light.
Keep the vial in the outer carton.
Once opened, use within 28 days.
