Active principles: :
Pendistrep cintains
- Benzylpenicillin procaine 200.000 IU/ml;
- Dihydrostreptomycin sulphate 312.5 mg/ml (equivalent to 250 mg of dihydrostreptomycin base
INDICATIONS:
Pendistrep is used for the Treatment of bacterial infections, postoperative ones, and or secondary to viral Infections, caused by germs sensitive to the association, such as
bovine, ovine, and caprine:
-Cutaneous abscesses, Actinomycosis Podal affections.
-Arthritis, Anthrax, Leptospirosis.
-Mastitis, Metritis, Pneumonia, and -Bronchopneumonia.Pneumonia
Equine:
-Metritis, Bronchopneumonia, and Strangles.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Do not administer Pendistrep to animals with:
– hypersensitivity to the penicillins and/or aminoglycosides
-renal insufficiencies, hepatopathies
Animals are less than one month old.
Do not administer to rabbits, guinea pigs, and hamsters
ADVERSE REACTIONS:
Allergic or anaphylactic reactions: these are developed in hypersensitive animals, being sometimes serious, and their length is generally between 2 and 4 hours.
Old bovines are usually more predisposed, and their symptoms are salivation, tremors, vomits, respiratory distress, and cutaneous edema in some areas of the body.
In serious cases, the product administration should be suppressed, and epinephrine and/or corticoids
should be administered immediately Horses of white coat and fine skin: cutaneous plates and hematomas may be observed at the inoculation site with local edema and muscular pain.

DOSAGE
Intramuscular route
Bovine, ovine, caprine, and equine: 1 ml of per 20-30 Kg per body weight and day
The treatment should be administered 1 or 2 days
more after the remittance of the symptoms
ADVICE ON CORRECT ADMINISTRATION:
Shake Pendistrep well before use.
Keep asepsis conditions during its administration, disinfecting previously the injection area with alcohol
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
Meat 30 days
Milk: 3 days,
SPECIAL STORAGE CONDITIONS :
Store Pendistrep below 25 C and protected from light.
Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
SPECIAL WARNINGS:
Special warnings for each target species:
Do not administer Pendistrep to horses whose meat is destined for human consumption
Special precautions for use:
Keep asepsis conditions during its administration, disinfecting previously the injection area with alcohol.
Do not administer by subcutaneous or intravenous injection or near an important nerve.
The veterinary medicinal product should be administered with caution in animals with known allergic reactions.
The renal function should be monitored during the treatment, mainly in young animals.
Use during pregnancy and lactation:
Do not administer to pregnant females due to the risk of foetal cochleovestibular toxicity.
Interactions:
Do not administer Pendistrep jointly with Bacteriostatic antibiotics and other aminoglycosides, due to its antagonism with Pentobarbital and inhalant anesthetics due to a risk of vascular depression.
Muscular relaxants due to a risk of neuromuscular blockade.
Diuretics due to the increasing ototoxicity.
Others Heparin, calcium gluconate, riboflavin, triamcinolone, indomethacin, phenylbutazone, salicylates, and weak acids Overdose: Curariform toxicity by accidental intoxication
