Composition
Each ml SPECTIN contains:
Spectinomycin.50 mg
as spectinomycin dihydrochloride pentahydrate
Exp. qs.1 ml
Indications
SPECTIN For the prevention of bacterial neonatal disease (e.g. watery mouth disease) in lambs which are at risk of colostrum deprivation.
Dosage and Administration
Spectin is given orally.
To ensure the correct dosage, body weight must be determined as accurately as possible to avoid underdosing.
Lambs: 1. Administer 1 ml of the dose only once after birth as soon as possible.
1. Insert the dose into the bottle and push the clear plastic tube over the tip of the pump nozzle.
2. Press the plunger several times to fill the pump.
3. The pump should fit securely on the tongue.
4. Each pump of the plunger delivers 1 ml of solution containing 50 mg of spectinomycin.
5. When not in use, remove the dosing pump from the bottle.
6. Place the clear plastic tube in the neck of the bottle and press the plunger several times to return any medication in the pump to the bottle.
7. Before storing for future use, always rinse the dose with water to prevent the pump parts from sticking.
Withdrawal Period
Animals must not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment.
Lambs may be slaughtered for human consumption only after 10 days from the last treatment.
Storage
Store Sepectin in a cool, dry place, away from light and at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
