Spectisav | Spectinomycin veterinary use | for lambs and kids

Spectisav is an oral solution of spectinomycin veterinary use (for lambs and kids). It’s used for prevention & treatment of infectious enteritis e.g. watery mouth disease in lambs.
Composition
Each 1 ml Spectisav contains:
Spectinomycin(as spectinomycin dihydrochloride pentahydrate)50 mg.
Excipients: Sodium benzoate, sodium
metabisulfite, hypromellose, tartrazine and purified water.
Indications
Spectisav is used For the prevention and treatment of infectious enteritis in young animals (e.g. watery mouth disease in lambs which are at risk of colostrum deprivation).
Contraindications
1-Known hypersensitivity to the active ingredient.
2-Use Spectisav with caution in animals suffering from renal damage.
Dosage & Administration
Give Spectisav By oral administration.
Lambs and kids: up to 5 to 6 kg body weight
Prevention: 3 ml in a single administration to new-born animals, as soon as possible after birth.
Treatment: 2 ml twice daily for 3 to 5 days.
Overdose (symptoms, emergency procedures, antidotes):
If necessary because the product is so poorly absorbed from the alimentary canal, it is difficult to overdose.
The symptoms of overdosage are not known.
There is no known antidote to overdosage.
Withdrawal period
Meat: 5 days.
Animals must not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment by Spectisav.
Storage
Keep Spectisav out of the reach and sight of children.
Store below 30°C.
