Tocosil Forte is a compound rich in Vitamin E and Selenium for horses, cattle, buffalo, sheep and goats, known for its effectiveness in improving growth performance, strengthening immunity and restoring weak immunity.
Composition
Each 1 ml Tocosel Forte injection contains
- dl-alpha tocopheryl acetate -------150 mg (Equiv. to vitamin E 150 IU)
- Sodium selenite ----------------------1.1 mg (Equiv. to Selenium 0.5 mg)
Properties
-Tocosel Forte injection composed of Vit. E and Selenium which are essential nutrients for animals
-Vitamin E plays an important role in various biochemical and physiological processes, it acts as an antioxidant
-Vitamin E supplementation has been proven to improve growth performance, enhance immunity and restore impaired immunity
-Selenium is an important part of the glutathione (GSH) peroxidase family that is involved in the antioxidant protection of cells against oxidative stress
-Selenium exerts its protective effect against oxidative damage by decreasing the number of free radicals and increasing the synthesis of glutathione peroxidase, which catalyses the breakdown of toxic hydrogen peroxide and lipid hydroperoxides
Indications
Tocosel Forte injection Is used For the prevention and treatment of the various syndromes which are associated with deficiency of vitamin E and/or selenium in horses, cattle, buffaloes, sheep, and goats.
prophylactic indications
• Farms located in selenium-deficient soil areas
• When diets low in vitamin E are fed or a diet containing high levels of moist-stored grains or maize silage
• In case of vitamin E and/or selenium deficiency, indicated by poor breeding performance; or nutritional muscular dystrophy
• To provide extra vitamin E during periods of heavy work-load ( horses
Therapeutic indications
-indicated in various manifestations of nutritional muscular dystrophy (white muscle disease, nutritional myopathy) affecting cardiac and/or skeletal muscles,
-symptoms associated with chronic diarrhoea, unthriftiness, stiffness, lameness, abortions or immature birth
-to the pregnant ewes may assist in the prevention of the deficiency syndrome of newborn lambs under similar conditions
-can be used as an ancillary treatment to enhance immunity in the case of bacterial, viral and parasitic disease
Dosage and Administration
Prophylactic dose
1 ml per 50 kg one injection
at intervals of 3 months to be administrated I/M in case of horses & I/M or S/C in case of cattle, buffaloes, sheep,& goats
To be given once and repeated after two to four weeks if required
Contra-indications
Tocosel Forte injection shouldn’t be given intravenously
