TROY IRONCYL is one of the effective horse supplements for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia. It's an iron supplement, cobalt and manganese supplement with copper for horses and greyhounds.

Composition

TROY IRONCYL contains:
10mg/mL TOTAL IRON
5mg/mL AMMONIUM IRON (III) CITRATE,
75mg/mL FERROUS GLUCONATE
500 ug/mL MANGANESE
1.5ug/mL COBALT (as COBALT (II) SULFATE)
20ug/mL COPPER (as COPPER (II) SULFATE)

Indications

It’s is an aid in the treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anemia in horses and Greyhounds.
Anaemia due to iron deficiency may be caused by worm infestations, excessive blood loss, and Inadequate dietary intake such as grazing depleted pastures.
Often, forms of iron in the diet are Poorly absorbed.
In the working horse, anemia may stem from iron loss in sweat and from Increased breakdown of red blood cells associated with greater metabolic and physiologic demands.
TROY IRONCYL is a palatable, non-irritant haematinic syrup containing iron (soluble
Iron salts), copper, cobalt and manganese are required for hemoglobin synthesis.

Direction for use

PRECAUTION: TROY IRONCYL contains copper and should be administered with caution to
Horses that have previously been exposed to plants containing pyrrolizidine alkaloids.
40ml/ 450 kg bodyweight daily in the feed, or as directed by a Veterinary Surgeon.
Treatment Should continue until anemia is corrected, usually 14-28 days.
Further blood analysis may be required to monitor the resolution of anemia.
GREYHOUNDS: 1ml/ 10 kg bodyweight daily in the feed, or as directed by a Veterinary Surgeon. Treatment should continue until anemia is corrected, usually 14-25 days.

Routine supplementation may be required in horses and greyhounds that sweat heavily, or those undergoing hard training in a warm climate, to prevent the development of iron deficiency anemia.
