Amproxin 20% is a concentrated oral veterinary Anticoccidial drug (contains amprolium) used to treat coccidia in Broiler chickens, turkeys, calves and lambs
Composition
Each 1 gm of Amproxin 20% contains
Amprolium HCl 226.2 mg.
(Equiv. to Amprolium base 200 mg.)
Dosage
Amproxin 20% is given orally by adding to the drinking water
Broiler chicken & turkey:
250 gm per 200 liters of drinking water
(1 g. per 8.3 kg. B.Wt) for 5 – 7 days
Calves:
1 gm per 20 kg. B.Wt. for 5 days.
Lambs:
1 gm per 4 kg. B.Wt for 4 – 5 days.
Side effects
Prolonged high dosages of Amproxin 20% can lead to thiamine deficiency.
Contraindications
shouldn’t be used in
-calves processed for veal
-Don’t administer to turkeys before the age of 8 – 10 weeks
Withdrawal Time
Meat for calves & lambs: 5 days.
Broiler chickens & turkeys: Nil
