Cymelarsan is one of the most effective drug for trypanosomosis!
Cymelarsan is an antiprotozoal for the treatment of blood parasites (T. evansi) in camels.

Composition:
Each vial of CYMELARSAN contains in sterile freeze-dried powder form:
bis(aminoethylthio)-4melaminophenylarsine dihydrochloride 100 mg.
Indications:
Cymelarsan Curative treatment of acute, subacute, and chronic T. evansi infection in camels.
Characteristics of Cymelarsan :
It has a rapid trypanocidal activity.
Trypanosomes are destroyed within a few hours. After injection, complete recovery occurs rapidly.
At the recommended dosage, CYMELARSAN is well tolerated.
The drug is fully active against T. evansi infection which are resistant to other drugs.
Cymelarsan dosage and administration:
Standard dosage: 0.25 mg/kg of body weight.
Use 2.5 ml of Cymelarsan for each 50 kg of body weight.
Prepare the 0.5% solution at the time of use by dissolving the freeze-dried powder in 20 ml of sterile water.
Contra-indications:
None.
It’s safe in pregnant animals.
Side effects:
For some cases, slight swelling may occur at the site of injection which disappears within a few days.
Route of administration:
Deep intramuscular injection in the neck.
For small or emaciated camels, split the volume in two sites of injection (right and left side of the neck).
Withdrawal time:
Milk and meat= 14 days.
Storage:
Store it in a dry place, and below +25°C.
Warnings:
-It should be prepared at the time of use and used immediately after mixing.
-Keep out of reach and sight of the children.
-Avoid contact of the product with the mucous membrane, especially the ocular mucous membrane.
