Composition:
Dexaroide contains
Active Ingredient:
Dexamethasone (Sodium Phosphate)4 mg/ml
Other Ingredients:
Methylparaben, Propyl paraben, Ethanol, Propylene glycol, Water for injection.
Properties:
Dexamethasone is a potent glucocorticoid with minimal mineralocorticoid activity.
Dexamethasone has (ten to twenty) times the anti-inflammatory activity of prednisolone.

Indications:
Dexaroide best anti-inflammatory for horses for use as a rapid adrenal glucocorticoid and/or anti-inflammatory agent

Target Species:
Horses.
Dosage and administration:
Inject 2.5-5 mg of active ingredient intravenously.
Contraindications::
Except in emergencies Dexaroide should not be used in animals suffering from
-renal impairment
-diabetes mellitus
-chronic nephritis
-congestive heart failure
-osteoporosis
-viral infections during the viraemic stage -pregnant animals.
Warnings:
–Corticosteroids are not recommended for use in pregnancy.
-Corticosteroids may delay wound healing and
actions may weaken resistance or exace
-Gastrointestinal ulceration has been reported
on corticosteroids.
-Steroid may cause enlargement of the liver hepatomegaly) with increased serum hepatic enzyme.
-Use in horses could induce laminitis and therefore careful observations should be made during treatment
Withdrawal period:
Not for use in Horses intended for human consumption
Storage:
Protect Dexaroide from light, store in a dry place, below 25°C.
Shelf life: 36 months.
Disposal Advice:
Any unused veterinary medicinal product or waste material derived from such veterinary medicinal products should be disposed of under local requirements.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
