Flostac 50% injection is an animal anti inflammatory with antipyretic pain relieving effect used in conditions as: mastitis in cattle, horse colic, acute and chronic rheumatic arthritis in horse, dogs & cat inflammation treatment.
Composition:
Each 1 ml of Flostac 50% injection contains: Dipyrone 500 mg.
Indication :
Flostac 50% injection is effective against a wide range of symptoms such as: colic, spasmodic conditions, hypermotility of the intestine, paresis, both acute and chronic rheumatic conditions (Rheumatism, Neuritis, Tendo-vaginitis), pain, fever, and mastitis, It is indicated as an analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic.
Doses and administration:
-Dose may be given by subcutaneous, intramuscular, or intravenous injection.
Horses :
10 – 20 ml ( 5 – 10 gram dipyrone) / adult animal ( IM or very slowly IV injections).
Cattle:
5 ml ( 2.5 gm dipyrone ) / 50 kg B.wt.
Dogs and Cats:
0.55 ml /10 kg of B.wt.( 27.5 mg dipyrone / 1 kg).
WARNING:
-Total daily dose should not exceed 300 mg/animal/day for dogs and cats.
-Total daily dose should not exceed 10 g/animal/day for horses.
Withdrawal Time :
28 days for ruminants.
Contra-indications and Precautions:
-Not to be used for: dairy animals, poultry.
-Dipyrone is physically incompatible with apomorphine, aspirin, chloral hydrate, and oxidizing agents.
-Dipyrone should not be used concurrently with phenylbutazone or barbiturates.
-Concomitant administration with chlorpromazine may cause serious hypothermia.
-In horses, do not administer Flostac 50% within 5 days of racing.
-Blood picture should be monitored with long-term therapy.
