Megluflor is a cattle antibiotic with flunixin meglumine as anti-inflammatory, indicated for treatment of cattle respiratory diseases (BRD) associated with Pasteurella and applied to animals through subcutaneous injection. More details are found below..
Composition:
Each 1 ml of Megluflor contains :
Florfenicol 300 mg.
Flunixin( flunixin meglumine)16.5 mg.
Properties:
Florfenicol is a broad spectrum antibiotic that has activity against many bacteria such as Pasteurella multocida, Pasteurella haemolytica, Haemophilus somnus and Mycoplasma bovis.
It acts by binding to the 50S ribosome, thereby inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis.
Flunixin meglumine belongs to NSAIDs which have analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic activity by acting as a very potent inhibitor of cyclooxygenase.
Indications:
Megluflor is indicated for treatment of bovine respiratory disease (BRD) in cattle associated with Pasteurella multocida, Pasteurella haemolytica and Mycoplasma bovis.
Dosage:
Megluflor is applied to animals through subcutaneous injection.
6 ml / 45 kg body weight as a single dose.
Contra-Indication & Warnings :
– Do not use in case of Hypersensitivity to active ingredients.
– Don’t use it in animals suffering from hepatic, renal or cardiac disease.
– Not to be used in lactating cattle producing milk for human consumption.
Side effects:
One of the side effects is swelling at site of injection after subcutaneous administration.
Withdrawal Time:
Meat : 46 days.
Storage:
Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
