TRIQUIN-S | Quinapyramine Sulphate | trypanosomiasis treatment |camel

TARQUIN-S is an anti-blood parasite for camel it is very effective in treating trypanosomiasis in Camel let’s know more about the product
COMPOSITION
- Quinapyramine Sulphate ------ 2 gm
- 1 ampoule of sterile water for injection--- 20 ml
The salt is white cream-coloured or pale yellow crystalline powder, odourless with a bitter taste
TRIQUIN-S is Quinapyramine Sulphate which is readily soluble in water& provides curative action
INDICATIONS
TARQUIN-S is indicated for the treatment of trypanosomiasis caušed by various. species of trypanosomes in Camel.
DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION
TARQUIN-S is used for camel only
dosage 3 mg/ kg
may be administered at dosages up to 5 mg/kg of body weight.
For infections including Trypanosoma evansi, T.equinum and equiperdum
TRIQUIN-S Injection should be administered by subcutaneous injection.
Massage injection site well to disperse the drug & minimize the risk of local reactions.
RECONSTITUTION
Use sterile syringes & needles & employ an aseptic technique.
Add 20 ml sterile water for injections into the vial to produce a 10% solution for immediate use.
Do not store prepared solution To obtain the best results it is important that bodyweight is assessed as accurately as possible & appropriate dose administered
NOTES
No animal needs to be given more than 20 ml
IT should be administered subcutaneously in more than one place in debilitated animals
In weak animals, the solution is further diluted with an equal volume of water for injections & the dosage should be completed in 12 hourly instalments
SIDE EFFECTS
In normal dosage, TRIQUIN-S is free from side effects however, salivation, restlessness& tremor of a small group of muscles where the injection has been administered, may be observed in Some susceptible animals that are excited or in weak animals at the time of receiving injection
The above reactions are transitory & pass off in a few hours by giving complete rest to the animals in a quiet place.
